Run your Annual Tax Computation (tax memo)

Compute your fiscal-year tax memo from live books using your country's rule pack, review each tab, and export the PDF.

beginner· 2 views· Updated 9/9/2026

The memo is computed entirely from your country's versioned rule pack - rates, bands, allowance classes and wording. Tax settings (sector, size, elections) live on the Settings tab and are defined by the pack. 2025 and 2026 packs are live; the engine picks the pack by your fiscal-year start date.

Annual Tax Computation: overview
Overview

Step-by-step

  1. 1
    Open the memo

Go to More Tools → Tax Centre → Annual Tax Computation and click Run Engine. The badge under the title shows which rule pack (country, year, version) computed your figures.

  2. 2
    Read the Summary tab

§1 starts from accounting profit and lists every add-back and deduction in plain words. §2 replaces book depreciation with the tax depreciation / capital allowances your country allows, then shows taxable profit and each tax line.

  3. 3
    Check Capital Allowances and Disposals

The Capital Allowances tab lists every asset with its statutory class and allowance. Assets sold in the year appear in 'Disposals in the period' with the tax written-down value, proceeds and the balancing allowance or charge the rules require.

  4. 4
    Act on the amber banner

If a banner says 'Figures may be out of date', the rule pack changed (or a mid-year rule took effect) after your last run. Click Recalculate now.

  5. 5
    Export

Use Download memo (PDF) from the header for your accountant or filing file.
