Upload a statement with the CSV / Excel template (and what the balance warning means)
Use the templates under Advanced options when your bank's own export isn't available. Running balances are checked on import.
Click Upload Statement, expand Advanced options and download the CSV or Excel template. Columns: Date, Description, Amount (+ money in / − money out) and Balance (running balance). Keep the first row Opening Balance and the last row Closing Balance with amount 0.00.
Accepted variations: instruction rows kept or deleted, real Excel dates and numbers, quoted thousands separators ("2,400.00"), commas inside descriptions, DD/MM/YYYY dates, and several files selected at once (imported as one Statement set with continuity checks).
Blocked uploads: a statement entirely inside an already-imported period is refused with Nothing new to import; a gap or an opening balance that does not match your books is refused with a message naming the last imported date and both balances.
Balance warning: if the Balance column does not add up, the rows are still imported but you get an amber imported with a balance warning toast naming the period, the statement balance vs the computed balance and the difference. The Uploads tab shows a Balance check flagged chip. Fix the Balance cells and re-upload, or review in Reconciliation.
Step-by-step
- 1Download the template
Upload Statement → Advanced options → CSV template or Excel template.
- 2Fill it in
One row per transaction, newest at the bottom. Money in positive, money out negative, Balance = running balance after the row.
- 3Upload
Upload Statement → Select statement file, pick the bank account, Process. Watch the progress banner; the success toast tells you how many rows were imported and how many need review.
